Finding Purpose Together — A Morning of Reflection and Connection

Our first Analog Connection gathering — Find Your WHY with Elise — was small, intimate, and filled with warmth. Some of us already knew each other, but most faces were new. Yet from the moment we settled in, there was an easy sense of trust and friendliness in the room. Maybe it was the cozy space, the gentle scent of the room fragrance, or the sunlight filtering in from the park outside — but it felt calm, grounded, and safe.

Exploring the “Why”

We often think of our “why” as a grand life mission — something we have to figure out once and for all. But as Elise reminded us, our why is often already woven through our everyday stories. It shows up quietly in the moments, choices, and experiences that light us up — even when we don’t notice it.

To explore this, we paired up with someone we didn’t know. Sharing our life stories with a stranger turned out to be surprisingly revealing. Because they listened without preconceptions, they picked up on subtle threads we might have missed about ourselves.

What We Discovered

As one participant shared afterward, “I always perceived my story in a certain way. But when I told it to someone else, she noticed completely different things — things I’d never paid attention to." It just shows us the value of seeing things from another perspective.

Another noticed how her partner’s energy shifted when talking about two potential career options — one described with detachment, the other with clear passion and conviction. Sometimes the spark in the eyes and body language reveal our truth long before our minds do.

Why It Mattered

Gatherings like this remind us that reflection doesn’t have to happen alone. With the right setting — good company, good energy, and a thoughtful facilitator — something quietly powerful unfolds. We begin to see ourselves more clearly through the eyes of others.

Looking Ahead

If this session sparked something in you, I hope you’ll join us for the next gathering. Analog Connection is just beginning, and each person who comes adds something unique and meaningful to the mix.
